What European Commission expects from the first meeting between Juncker and Zelensky

The European Commission has confirmed that the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker will be held in Brussels on Tuesday.

This was announced by spokesperson of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas at a briefing on Monday, as an Ukrinform correspondent informs.

“This will be the first meeting with the new President of Ukraine, and we look forward to this meeting. This will be an opportunity to maintain a very good level of relations that we had with Ukraine also under  President Poroshenko. We have a wide range of issues of cooperation, in particular in politics, in economy and society development. We have a target Mission, which helps Ukraine in carrying out structural reforms. Therefore, we have many questions for joint discussion,” said Schinas.

He has noted that journalists will receive information about the meeting between Zelensky and Juncker via “regular channels”. None of the press scrums are expected after the meeting.
