In London, a display dedicated to Ukrainian athletes who died in the war with Russia has been installed in Parliament Square.
A large figure ‘487’ in the colors of the Ukrainian flag has been placed on the lawn of the square – approximately the number of athletes who have died during the Russian invasion as of early July.
Around the figures, equipment used by the deceased athletes in their sports disciplines is laid out.
The display was set up with the support of the UK government, the National Olympic Committee, and the Sports Committee of Ukraine.
