Elon Musk’s alleged Nazi salute sparks global outrage

It was not hard to predict that Elon Musk’s stunt of performing a “Nazi-style” salute would overshadow Donald Trump’s entire inauguration ceremony…

The scandal surrounding the neo-Nazi-style gesture celebrating Trump’s victory is just starting to gain momentum. This act by the American billionaire and globally renowned innovator Elon Musk is being covered not only by the American press but also by media worldwide. Here’s how the Israeli publication The Jerusalem Post described the incident:

“US billionaire Elon Musk appeared to make a Heil Hitler salute at the Washington DC Trump parade on Monday, following Trump’s inauguration”

“Musk was seen making the gesture a total of three times on live television”

The Jerusalem Post further corroborated Musk’s “saluting” by providing several videos from different sources.

I never thought the scandal would even be picked up by the media in New Zealand:

“Billionaire Trump supporter Elon Musk has sparked outrage online after performing what looked like a Nazi salute during his speech to celebrate President Donald Trump’s inauguration”.

Similar comments were reported by the French media outlet France 24:

Trump’s cultists are trying to find some justification for Elon Musk. But you can’t fool people. The ‘Sieg Heil’ gesture is what it is and cannot be mistaken for anything else.

And please don’t try to bring up the Bellamy Salute used among scouts. There was one important detail: the palm of the right hand was turned upward and pointed to the flag. However, even so, Congress decided that the Bellamy Salute resembled the Nazi greeting and banned it, just like the Columbus Cross.

I’m not expressing any personal opinion here! I’m simply relaying the reactions from leading international media and providing references – it’s up to you to interpret them as you see fit.
