The prosecutor’s office asked the court to impose arrest on the property of the Ukraine Minister of Internal Affairs’s son Oleksandr Avakov, UNN reports.
The prosecutor’s office appealed to the court to impose arrest on the property of Oleksandr Avakov, the son of the acting Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (MIA). The reason was an open criminal proceeding for the procurement of MIA backpacks at inflated prices, the figurant of which is the son of the acting head of the department.
As it turned out, some of the backpacks, which are mentioned in the criminal proceedings about their purchase at inflated prices for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, were sewn at enterprises in penal institutions. The cost of tailoring backpacks ranged from UAH 60 to UAH 130. This was reported by the prosecutor of the SAP during the examination of petition to elect a measure of restraint to Arsen Avakov’s son, Oleksandr, in the Solomensky district court of Kyiv. The prosecutor also said that the real cost of “Avakov’s backpack” was UAH 555, but they were purchased by the MIA at UAH 2899.
A preliminary arrest was already imposed on the property of Avakov’s son, in accordance with Part 9 of Article 170 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and a petition was submitted to the court for his property arrest. At the same time, Avakov’s lawyer Oleksandr Lysak said that the defense does not yet have information about any petitions to arrest the property of their client.
Recall, on November 1, Solomensky District Court of Kyiv elected for Oleksandr Avakov, the son of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov the measure of restraint in the form of a personal obligation with the wearing of an electronic means of control.
