The meeting of world leaders has ended. What was discussed in Paris?

The meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing” in Paris has concluded, as evidenced by the departure of the first leaders from the Élysée Palace.

According to Ukrinform, The Guardian reports this development.

It is noted that the first leaders to leave the Élysée Palace included European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Additionally, it is reported that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also exited the French presidential residence.

Zelensky stated that “everyone understood and understands that Russia does not want any peace today,” adding that work on security guarantees for Ukraine will continue “in the coming weeks and days.”

Starmer said that the “Coalition of the Willing” meeting in Paris was “very constructive.”

“It was absolutely clear that Russia is trying to stall (peace – ed.), playing games, and we must be absolutely clear about this,” the British Prime Minister said.

According to him, the leaders agreed on the need for greater support for Ukraine “to ensure that Ukraine has the strongest position both now and in future negotiations.” He also noted that during the meeting, there was “complete clarity” that now is not the time to lift sanctions on Russia.

“On the contrary, we discussed how we can strengthen sanctions to support the U.S. initiative and force Russia to come to the negotiating table through further pressure from this group of countries,” Starmer said.

The British Prime Minister added that the summit also addressed “military and operational” plans to support any ceasefire and peace in Ukraine, “whether on land, in the air, or at sea.”

“A strong outcome of the meeting was that so many countries support Ukraine, as they have for more than three years, at this crucial moment, for as long as necessary,” Starmer added.

As reported by Ukrinform, the “Coalition of the Willing” summit took place in Paris today, with its main focus on continuing assistance to Ukraine and discussing the structure of future security guarantees for Ukraine after the war ends.
