Sanctions against Lukoil do not threaten Slovakia’s energy security. Their lifting will not be up for discussion, – the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister said he had a series of talks with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico about the situation with the transit of Russian oil.
He noted that Ukraine insists on maximum reduction of Russian oil imports and reminded that most EU countries have found alternative supply channels.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that Ukraine remains a reliable transit partner for all countries and is fulfilling the Association Agreement with the EU.
“Slovakia is our reliable partner, from whom we do not expect blackmail or threats. Threatening Ukraine, which is defending itself from an aggressor, to ensure that a terrorist state continues to earn its bloody superprofits is a dubious path.
The sanctions imposed by Ukraine do not pose a threat to Slovakia’s energy security.
The threat comes from Russia, its hybrid energy war against the Slovak people, its blackmail, and political ultimatums,” Shmyhal informs.
