Missile strike on children's playground in Mykolaiv: number of injured rises to 15 civilians
In Mykolaiv, there are currently 15 injured and 3 killed as a result of a Russian airstrike on a children’s playground.
This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to Rubryka. Among the injured are 4 children, and 8 people have been hospitalized. The regional prosecutor’s office reports that the deceased include a 63-year-old woman, a man, and a 12-year-old boy.
According to the investigation, on July 19 at 17:13, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on a residential neighborhood in Mykolaiv. The airstrike damaged a children’s playground in the courtyard of an apartment building complex. The blast wave and shrapnel also damaged multiple residential buildings.
Preliminary reports indicate that the occupiers struck the city with a Kh-59 missile.
On-site, psychologists from the State Emergency Service (SES) are providing necessary assistance to those in need. Rescue workers and police are helping the owners of damaged apartments retrieve essential belongings. The SES has set up an emergency assistance point.
Law enforcement officers have initiated a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war combined with intentional murder (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
To recap, an explosion occurred in Mykolaiv this evening, July 19. The Air Force had warned about a missile launch towards the city.
It later became known that Russian occupiers cynically struck a residential area of Mykolaiv during “rush hour.” At that time, children were playing on the playgrounds, and their parents were returning home from work.
