Kyiv Day celebration: loud russian drones attack

The last weekend of May usually is special in Kyiv. Citizens and guests of the capital celebrate Kyiv Day.

This year, russian forces made this weekend really special. Ukrainian air defense is operating in Kyiv and the oblast overnight from Mat 27 to May 28. There are explosions, damages and deaths.

What is known as of 03:30 a.m.:

• The city mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reports that the explosions resulted by the russian drones arrivals took place in the Solomyanskyi, Sviatoshynskyi districts.

• A fire broke out on the roof of the 9th floor residential building in the Pechersk district of Kyiv.

• In the Holosiivsky district, iranian drone debris fell on a gas station. According to the Kyiv city military administration, one person was killed and three injured. Meantime, Vitaliy Klitschko admitted that 41-year-old person who died near the gas station in the Solomyansky district. All details will come soon.

The mayor of Kyiv does not exclude another wave of drones is heading to the capital.

Around 8:00 a.m. we’ve got official updates on the night massive drones attack from the General Staff of Ukraine.

52 out of 54 russian shahed drones have been shot down by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the night of May 28, 2023, the russian forces attacked Ukraine with Iranian attack drones “Shahed-136/131” from the northern direction – Bryansk region, russia and the southern – Krasnodar region, russia.

In total, a highest number of shahed drone launches were recorded – 54!

Another night attack was directed by the russian occupiers at military facilities and facilities of the state’s critical infrastructure in the central Oblasts of the country, in particular, at the Kyiv Oblast.

Here, in the area of responsibility of the Center Air Command, most of the attack drones have been destroyed!

Also, the forces and means of the Air Command “South” and the Air Command “West” of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and air defense of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the attack!

As a result of successful combat work, 52 shahed drones were destroyed!

You don’t have to go far to find an explanation for this russian massive drones attack on Kyiv. This weekend Kyiv celebrates the 1541st Anniversary of its foundation. For putin there can be no greater irritant than the ancient history of Ukraine.
