After the Russian attack, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy cancels part of his visit to South Africa and returns to Ukraine.

According to him, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister will hold all necessary meetings in South Africa.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that nine people were killed and another 80 were injured as a result of the Russian attack on Ukraine.

“It is imperative that everyone in the world sees and understands what is really happening. About 70 missiles, including ballistic missiles. Almost 150 strike drones. Unfortunately, there is a lot of destruction. Rescue operations are underway, the rubble is being cleared. As of now, over 80 people have been injured throughout Ukraine. Everyone is being helped. Unfortunately, 9 people died in Kyiv,” he wrote in his Telegram.

Zelensky said that today he would inform South African President Ramaphosa, who chairs the G20, about the situation and Ukraine’s need to intensify global diplomatic efforts.

“We need the strikes to stop immediately and unconditionally. We also count on assistance in humanitarian issues – in returning our prisoners and Ukrainian children abducted by Russia,” he added.

Zelensky said that he was canceling part of his visit to South Africa and would immediately return to Ukraine after meeting with President Ramaphosa, and the Ukrainian Foreign Minister would hold all necessary meetings in South Africa to fully inform the country’s political and public leaders about the situation.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in South Africa on April 24 for talks with President Cyril Ramaphosa.

On the night of April 24, Russian troops launched a combined strike on Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Kyiv and the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Khmelnytsky, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions were under massive Russian attack, with rescuers working at 13 locations.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that on the night of April 24, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine with 215 drones and missiles of various types, including 11 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles. According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the main target of the attack was the city of Kyiv.

There have been reports of people killed and wounded in Kyiv. People were also injured in Kharkiv and the Zhytomyr, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Kyiv regions.
