New images of the destroyed Nova Poshta postal terminal near Kharkiv, which was hit by the Russian army during an air attack on southern Ukraine on October 21, have been released.
It was possible to identify the bodies of five dead Ukrainians who suffered due to the actions of the occupiers, Oleksandr Kobyliev said, acting head of the department for investigating crimes committed in the context of armed conflict of the regional police investigation department. This was reported by Suspilne.
According to him, all of them belong to men. The sixth body will be submitted for additional examination, as it is difficult to recognize due to severe injuries sustained in the fire.
The police are currently identifying the relatives and friends of the identified victims in order to get in touch with them, Kobylyev said.
The moment of the Russian missile strike on the Nova Poshta terminal has also appeared. The video was posted on Ukrainian telegram channels.
Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, posted new photos of the strikes on the terminal on his Telegram, reminding that a Russian missile killed six civilians at night. Sixteen others were injured and suffered shrapnel wounds.
“They were hospitalized in one of the hospitals in Kharkiv. Four of them sought outpatient medical care. The injured are residents of Kharkiv, Pisochyn, Lyubotyn and Izium aged 19 to 49,” the mayor said.
Strike on the Nova Poshta terminal – what kind of damages?
As UNIAN reported, on October 21, at about 22:15, the Russian military hit the Nova Poshta terminal in Korotych, Kharkiv district, with an S-300 missile. The terminal building was destroyed. A fire broke out. 6 people were killed and 16 injured. 7 trucks and 2 semi-trailers of the company were damaged. The strike came from the territory of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the victims were aged 19 to 42. Among those hospitalized, 7 people are in moderate condition, another 7 are in serious condition, and doctors are fighting for their lives.
The dead and injured are the company’s employees who were inside at the time of the strike. The company’s terminal operates 24 hours a day, they were sorting cargo there, and in the morning the parcels were to be taken out by trucks.
Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office spokesman Dmytro Chubenko said that all the victims were civilians. According to him, at least two S-300 missiles hit the building.
