Erdoğan: The return of Crimea to Ukraine is a requirement of international law
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the return of occupied Crimea to Ukraine is a requirement of international law.
The return of Crimea to Ukraine is a requirement of international law. Turkey supports its territorial integrity, – Erdoğan says.
As reported by Censor.NET, citing Anadolu, the Turkish leader made this statement during an address to participants of the fourth Crimea Platform summit.
According to him, the occupation of Crimea, which Turkey opposed, has further deepened the suffering of the Crimean Tatars, who experienced deportation 80 years ago.
“Our support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence remains unwavering. The return of Crimea to Ukraine is a requirement of international law,” Erdoğan emphasized.
He also highlighted that one of Turkey’s foreign policy priorities is ensuring the security and well-being of the Crimean Tatars.
“It is gratifying that in June, after almost three years of captivity, the deputy head of the National Assembly of Crimean Tatars, Nariman Dzhelyal, was released. We hope for the swift release of all Crimean Tatars, including brothers Asan and Aziz Akhtemov,” the Turkish leader added.
