On 27 February Cultural Space “Autonomous” was opened at the Crimea House in Kyiv.

Crimea House is state-owned property. Part of its ground floor was reconstructed and re-arranged into “Autonomous” Cultural Space.

“This house is open for everyone,” said Mustafa Dzhemilev, leader of Crimean Tatar people, MP, President’s Envoy on the Affairs of Crimean Tatar people at the opening of the cultural space. “At the same time it will become a cultural and information center, shelter for those who were forced to leave the territory of Crimea but keep struggling to have it freed from Russian occupation,” continued Dzhemilev.

At the opening various artistic genres were presented including painting referring to Crimean landscapes, Crimean Tatar music, clothes and cuisine, multi-media artistic installations.

According to Oleksiy Skoryk, Director of the State Enterprise “Crimea House” renovation of “Autonomous” Cultural Space became possible thanks to private donations with one of most significant ones made by Mustafa Dzhemilev. The place is open to activists, civic initiatives and organizations eager to implement cultural and social projects centered around Crimea and Crimean Tatar culture.
