NSC news & analysis center briefing at 12:30 June 21, 2015: highlights

News & Analysis Center of the National Security Council of Ukraine presents the latest updates from the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine on June 21, 2015 at its daily briefing.

(1) Mariupil direction: fighting intensified, geography of enemy’s shelling of Ukrainian positions expanded;

Exept of numerous provocations, the enemy shelled the village of Shyrokine with 122-mm self-propelled howitzer ”Gvozdika”. The ballte took place near the villages of Lebedinsky and Pavlopolem between Ukrainian forces and the enemy’s sabotage reconnaissance group. Movements through the transport corridor at the Ukrainian checkpoint Hnutoveis was suspended because of mortar attack;

(2) Donetsk direction: active comabats continued on the west direction from the city of Donetsk – near Donetsk airport, Maryinka and Krasnogorivka. 50% of ceasefire regime violation was spotted there. Tense situation was near Horlivka yesterday, there were 2 shelling of the city by the enemy;

(3) Luhansk direction: situation was moslty quite. Rare firefights and provocations were spoteed across the whole front line from Zolote to Stanytsya Luhanska;

(4) In the meantime, OSCE reports about new evidences of the Minsk aggrements violations by the militants in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine. International observers have documented the movement of two T-72 tanks across the city of Shakhtarsk, which is currently under the militants’s control. 4 armored vehicles and 11 tanks were also seen at the eastern outskirts of the town of Zuhres. In addition, UAVs spotted 10 tanks and 27 armored vehicles in Komsomolsk and 4 self-propelled howitzers ”Gvozdika” near the village of Vasylivka;

(5) Over the last 24 hours 3 enemy’s UAV’s were spotted over the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine;

(6) 2 Ukrainian soldier were killed and 6 wounded over the last 24 hours;
