Ukrainian positions in Avdyivka under massive Russian attack

Is there a war in Ukraine right now? Yes ! Who invaded Ukraine? Russia. This is a minimum everyone should learn so far.

Russian armed forces and their proxies have started a massive attack in the industrial area of Avdyivka tonight around 22:00PM (Kyiv time). Russian special forces used tanks, heavy artillery, anti-aircraft guns, heavy machine guns, mortars as well as small arms and sniper fire against Ukrainian armed forces positions there.

Ukrainian troops succeed to repel the first series of heavy Russian attacks (data as of 23:08PM Kyiv time) and shot down 2 Russian UAVs.  It was the intence firefight, Ukrainian soldiers and witnesses say. Russian armed forces failed to break throw and consolidate their forces on the suburb of the town.

Starting from 23:00PM (Kyiv time) Russian forces rarely used heavy artillery and tanks fire against Ukrainian troops.

At least 3 Ukrainian servicemen wounded in action (data as of 23:20PM Kyiv time), a Ukrainian servicemen reports.

The second wave of Russian heavy attack upon Ukrainian troops in Avdyivka has started at 23:30PM Kyiv time.

UDP 23:40PM Kyiv time: Ukrainian snipers killed at least 10 Russian proxies while attempting attack Ukrainian armed forces position. In addition, 1 Russian tank demolished.

UDP as of April 8,2016 at 00:10PM Kyiv time: the situation near Avdyivka is stable and remains under Ukrainian forces control. Russian regular army and proxies attempted to seize Ukrainian troops positions, but their rare attacks failed.

To remind, a Ukrainian town of Avdyivka (Donetsk Oblast) remains the hottest spot in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last weeks. In particular, Russians fulfilled 11 attacks over the last day upon Ukrainian positions in Avdyivka with the use of mortars of different calibers. To this end, 1 serviceman was wounded in action near Avdyivka.
