Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of July 25, 2016

Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of July 25, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) The situation in the war zone in southeast Ukraine remains tense. Russian armed forces and their proxies opened fire 58 times upon Ukrainian troops positions over the last day, in particular: 2 times on Luhansk direction, 21 times on Donetsk direction and 35 times on Mariupol direction;

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces opened fire upon Ukrainian troops positions with grenade launchers and small arms in the settlement of Orikhove;

(3) Donetsk direction: situation remains tense in Avdiivka and Novoselivka Druha, where Russian forces actively used forbidden 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms; besides mentioned, Ukrainian troops were involved in firefights with Russian subversives near Avdiivka; the enemy opened fire upon Ukrainian positions in Nevelske, Opytne and Butovka mine; to this end, 9 times Russian occupiers used heavy weponry;

(4) Mariupol direction: 6-hours combats between Russian occupiers and Ukrainian defenders reported at Novogrygorivka – Starognativka front line as well as atTalakivka – Vodyane direction; Russian occupiers used forbidden 122-mm self-propelled artillery guns during firing at the village of Grygorivka; the enemy opened fire from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars in Talakyvka, Vodyane and Starognativka; Russian forces also used APCs and grenade launchers fire in Shyrokino, Talakivka and Vodyane; the enemy actively used antiaircraft installations in Hnutove, high caliber machine guns in Krasnogorivka; Russian snipers have been spotted in Maryinka; hot spots ireported in Dokuchaevsk and Maryinka;

(5) Russian UAVs were spotted over the sky near Novoselivka Druha, Avdiivka, Vodyane, Popasna and Kamyanka;

(6) 4 Russian trucks with manpower (about 110 soldiers) and 3 cannons arrived from the territory of Russian Federation to the Ukrainian town of Sverdlovsk;

(7) Russian armed forces losses in the war zone in southeast Ukraine during the last day are as follows: 4 killed and 7 wounded;

(6)  3 Ukrainian servicemen was killed in action and 3 servicemen were wounded in action in the war zone in southeast Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
