Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of July 19, 2016

Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of July 19, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) The situation in the war zone in southeast Ukraine remains tense. Number of Russian armed forces attacks increased to 78 over the last day, in particular: 13 on Luhansk direction, 43 on Donetsk direction and 22 on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces opened fire with 120-mm mortars upon Ukrainian troops positions in Krymske, Novooleksandrivske and Troytske; the enemy have launched attack from 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and high caliber machine guns in Stanytsya Luhanska; another hot spot reported in Popasna;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers launched attacks with 122-mm artillery near Myronivka and Pisky; they also violate ceasefire regime by using 120-mm mortars in Mayorsk, Nyzhne Lozove, Zaytseve, Avdiivka and Luhanske; it worth mention, that Russian attack durarion at Zaytseve – Mayorske direction was about 8 hours; mentime, the enemy released 20 artillery shells at Myronivka; occupiers also used 122-mm howitzer in the Village of Kalynove; the enemy opened fire from 82-mm mortars at Kamyanka, Avdiivka, Pisky, Zaytseve, Opytne, Troytske and Nevelske; to this end, Russian forces actively used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, anti-aircraft installations and APC against Ukrainian troops in Novgorodske; Russian occupiers also opened fire at Ukrainian border cross point; the enemy intensify attacks in Doonetsk airport and released 30 mortar mines and 7 artillery shells upon Ukrainian positions there; Russian occupiers also used the newest equipment such as Russian electronic warfare systems R-330 ‘Zhitel’ and ‘Svet-KU’;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian forces opened fire from forbidden 120-mm mortars upon Ukrainian troops positions in Maryinka, Krasnogorivka and Starognativka; in addition, the enemy used 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms against Urkrainian forces in Vodyane, while massive Russian attack with grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and armored vehicles took place in Maryinka;
(5) 5 Russian UAVs were spotted over the sky at Ukrainian territory during the last day;
(6) Russian forces’ losses in the war zone in southeast Ukraine over the last day are as follows: 3 killed and 14 wounded;
(7)  7 Ukrainian serviceman was killed in action and 14 servicemen were wounded in action in southeast Ukraine over the last day.
