Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of July 15, 2016

Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of July 14, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) The situation in the war zone in southeast Ukraine remains tense. Russian armed forces and their proxies opened fire 64 times in total in the war zone in southeast Ukraine over the last day, in particular: 6 times on Luhansk direction, 32 times on Donetsk direction and 38 on Mariupol direction;

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces fulfilled 1-hour long attack at Ukrainain troops positions in Stanytsya Luhanska and Novotoshkivka reported as the hottest spots on this direction; the enemy opened fire upon Ukrainian positions near the village of Syze; 4 times Russian forces violated ceasefire regime near Popasna with the use of small arms and later on with heavy mortars;

(3) Donetsk direction: tense situation remains in Avdiivka industrial area and in Zaytseve as Russian forces used forbidden heavy weaponry as mortars round the clock there; Russian firing reported at Svitlodarska line near Luhanske; two hours long  powerfull firing with the use of mortars, heavy machine gun and grenade different systems fulfulled by Russian occupeirs near Novoselivka Druha; in addition, Russian armed provocations reported at the territory of Donetsk airport; to this end, 18 of 30 Russian shelling fulfilled from the heavy and forbidden by the Minsk agreements weaponry;

(4) Mariupol direction: intentisify Russian attacks reported in the area of Maryinka and Krasnogorivka on the north and in Priazovye on the south; in particular, the enemy released 70 artillery shells from cannons and 50 mines from mortars upon Ukrainian troops in Maryinka and Krasnogorivka; 10 times Russian occupiers violated ceasefire regime at Berezove – Hranitne front line with the use of grenade launchers, machine guns and armored vehicles; the enemy fulfilled a series of shelling with grenade launchers, small arms and mortars upon Ukrainian positions in Shyrokino; Russian mortars as well as APCs’ fire have been used in Vodyane and Lebedynske; to this end, 11 times Russian forces opened fire from heavy arms on this direction;

(5) 3 Russian UAVs were spotted over the sky at the in Mariupol Oblast, Ukrainian intelligence reports;

(6) Russian forces’ losses in the war zone in southeast Ukraine over the last day are as follows: 2 killed and 7 wounded;

(7)  1 Ukrainian serviceman was killed in action and 4 servicemen were wounded in action in southeast Ukraine over the last day.
