Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of July 13, 2016

Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of July 13, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) The situation in the war zone remains tense. Russian armed forces and their proxies opened fire 41 times in total upon Ukrainian troops positions, in particular: 4 times on Luhansk direction, 19 times on Donetsk direction and 18 on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian troops opened fire from grenade launchers, armored vehicles and high caliber machine guns upon Ukrainian positions in Stanytsya Luhanska; another Russian forces provocations reported in the village of Krymske;
(3) Donetsk direction: the enemy used 122-mm artillery against Ukrainian troops in Mykolayivka Druha,  120-mm mortars in Zaytseve, Avdiivka, Semygirya, Novoselivka and Novoselivka Druha and finally 82-mortars in Dacha and Novgorodske; besides mentioned types of weapons, Russian forces opened fire from grenade launchers of different systems, high caliber machine guns and small arms upon Ukrainian positions in Avdiivka; it worth mention, that Russian forces released about 200 mines in Avdiivka industrial area and Horlivka; Russian sniper fire reported near Luhanske; to this end, 2/3 of all Russian firing fulfilled from heavy and forbidden by the Minsk agreements mortars;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian armed forces concentrated activities in Krasnogorivka and opened fire with forbidden by the Minsk agreements 122-mm artillery and 120-mm mortar as well as APCs there; in addition, the enemy used 82-mm mortars against Ukraine defenders in Hnutove and high caliber machine guns in Shyrokino; to this end, Russian snipers opened fire upon Ukrainian positions in Maryinka;
(5) Russian UAVs were spotted over the sky at the Ukrainian territory in Donetsk Oblast;
(6) Russia continues to supply its regular armed forces and proxies in the war zone in southeast Ukraine with weaponry, in particular: fuel and 4 wagons with spare parts for weapons arrived to Rovenky railway hub and Luhansk depot, Ukrainian intelligence reports;
(7) Russian forces’ losses in the war zone in southeast Ukraine over the last day are as follows: 6 killed and 5 wounded;
(8)  2 Ukrainian servicemen were killed in action, 4 servicemen were wounded in action in southeast Ukraine over the last day.
