Ukraine and Canada signed an agreement on improving military cooperation

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of National Defense of Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces signed an agreement on improving military cooperation.


Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of National Defense of Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces signed an agreement that will improve military cooperation, in particular training of personnel, explosive and medical training, modernization of logistics, professional development and education of officers, as well as language courses and cooperation in the field of strategic communications.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The event was attended by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, National Guard of Ukraine commander Yuri Allerov, deputy commander of the Canadian Joint Operations Command – Chief of Staff William Seymour, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Roman Vashchuk.
The agreement was signed by the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel-General Yuri Allerov and the deputy commander of the Canadian Joint Operations Command, Chief of Staff Major-General William Seymour.
Seymour noted that Ukraine and Canada have achieved significant success in bilateral cooperation.
Now the assistance to the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of Ukraine from the Government of Canada is carried out through the International Technical Assistance projects. In particular, the project of police training support, strengthening of the National Police and attraction of experts from the Canadian police. The total amount of assistance was about 16 million US dollars and 8 million Canadian dollars.
Earlier, Kiev and Moscow broke an agreement on cooperation between the two countries’ media.
