The Defense Forces have officially confirmed the withdrawal from Vuhledar

The “Khortytsia” Operational and Strategic Group of Troops reported that the enemy, attempting to capture the city at any cost, redirected reserves to carry out flanking strikes, which exhausted the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units. As a result, there was a threat of the city being encircled.

“After suffering numerous losses due to prolonged fighting, the enemy did not abandon its attempts to capture Vuhledar… The higher command authorized a maneuver to withdraw units from Vuhledar to preserve personnel and combat equipment, and to take positions for future actions,” the group wrote.
