On May 6, the commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, visited the areas of Bakhmut, where he met with the commanders of combat units.
As reported, they discussed measures for better defense of Bakhmut and the task of maximum damage to the Wagner group fighters. Necessary operational decisions were made on the spot.
Oleksandr Syrskyi explained that not all issues can be discussed remotely. Therefore, live communication with the commanders made it possible to understand the situation in detail and plan future actions.
The commander of the Eastern Group of Forces describes the situation on the Eastern Front as tense, but under control. According to him, in recent days, the Russians have increased the intensity of shelling with heavy weapons, started using more advanced weapons and regrouping their troops.
“This shows that the enemy is not going to change its plans and is doing everything possible to take Bakhmut under control and continue offensive actions,” he says.
Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized that thanks to the active actions of our fighters, the enemy fails to achieve its goals.
On the occasion of the Infantry Day, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi presented the state and departmental awards and valuable gifts to about 170 fighters of the Eastern Front, who showed themselves heroically in battles.
