Ukrainian soldier from the “Azov” brigade died in Russian detention center

Soldier from the “Azov” brigade died in Russian detention center.

The deceased is 55-year-old Oleksandr Ishchenko. The causes and circumstances of his death are currently unknown, according to the Russian publication “Mediazona”.

Before the full-scale invasion, Ishchenko was a sailor. In February 2022, he joined the “Azov” Territorial Defense as a military driver, and in the spring, he was captured by Russian forces during the battles for Mariupol.

He was accused of “participation in a terrorist organization” and “attempting a violent seizure of power,” as reported by Suspilne.

The press service of “Azov” and the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War have not yet commented on this information.
