Russian Armed Forces concentrate heavy weaponry near the Ukraine

Russian Armed Forces concentrate tanks and artillery near the demarcation line, Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC) reports.

The Ukrainian party of the JCCC informs that Russian armed forces, despite arrangements for the withdrawal of weapons, are actively increasing the number of military equipment near the parties’ demarcation line.
On June 17, 2018 close to Alchevsk the SMM unmanned aerial vehicle spotted the movement of the Russian self-propelled artillery division (SAU 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, of 122 mm caliber), battery of anti-tank towed guns MT-12 Rapira (100 mm) and a towed howitzers battalion ( D-30 Zhaba of 122 mm), which is a direct violation of the Minsk agreements.
Outside the designated weapon storage areas, the SMM recorded the movement of the Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer battalion; the D-30 anti-tank towed howitzers battalion; the battery of the Rapira anti-tank guns and Sany mortars in the amount corresponding to an artillery unit.
A tank battalion armed with T-64 and T-72 tanks was spotted at the proving ground near Myrne.
On July 18, 2018, the SMM unmanned aerial vehicle spotted a concentration of 60 tanks, the battalion of 2C1 self-propelled howitzers, the towed artillery battalion, and the battery of anti-aircraft missiles 9K35 Strila-10 near Kruhlyk and Uspenska.
Thus, for only two days, the terrorist forces of the Russian Federation concentrated in these areas the forces and means that are equivalent to at least two tank regiments, five artillery battalions. Besides, there is a concentration of air defense weapon in these areas.
These measures, which are taken in spite of all the agreements and commitments on the delimitation of parties and the withdrawal of military equipment, are regarded not only as an unprecedented provocation, but also as a sign of the preparation of the RF armed formations for dynamic actions.
The JCCC considers the movement of a large number of military equipment of the Russian Armed Forces and its concentration outside the designated weapon storage areas as another attempt to provoke the United forces units to take countermeasures and as a direct evidence of a clear interest of the Russian leadership in exacerbating the situation on the contact line.
