Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of September 1, 2016

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of September 1, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.


(1) The situation in the war zone in eastern Ukraine is tense. Russian hybrid forces opened fire 25 times upon Ukrainian troops positions over the last day, including: 1 time on Luhansk direction, 14 times on Donetsk direction and 10 times on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian occupiers fired with small arms in Stanytsya Luhanska;
(3) Donetsk direction: the main firefights took place in Avdiivka industial area; in particular, the enemy luanched 1 massive mortar shelling there and released 26 mines in 1 hour upon Ukrainian troops positions; in addition, Russian forces violated ceasefire regime in Mayorsk and Verkhnyotoretsk; to this end, 1 Russian attack launched from heavy forbidden weaponry;
(4) Mariupol direction: combat between Russian – Ukrainian forces took place near Bogdanivka; Russian forces launched mortar shelling upon Ukrainian positions in Starognativka; the enemy also violated ceasefire regime mostly with small arms and sniper rifles in Maryinka, Dokuchaevsk, on Pavlopil – Shyrokine front direction;
(5) Russia’s armed forces and their proxies losses in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours: 6 killed and 11 wounded;
(6) 1 Ukrainian servicemen was killed in action and 1 serviceman was wounded in action in the war zone in southeast Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
