Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of October 6, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  October 6, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.


(1) Russian hybrid forces fired 24 times in the war zone in eastern Ukraine for the last 24 hours; Ukrainian troops returned fire in 17 cases; in particular, the enemy opened fire 5 times on Luhansk direction, 12 times on Donetsk direction and 7 times on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian occupeirs shelled 2 times with the use of forbidden 82-mm caliber mortar fire and released 17 mines upon Ukrainian troops positions in Lobacheve; the enemy violated ceasefire regime with grenade launchers and small arms in Stanytsya Luhanska, Valuyske and Krymske;
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian forces armed activities reported all across the frontline; intensive shootouts between Russian proxies and Ukrainian armed forces took place in Zaytseve and Mayorsk; the enemy fulfilled powerfull 2-hours shelling at Avdiivka; Russian troops fire reported also in Donetsk airport; the enemy fired with high caliber machine guns and grenade launchers upon Ukrainian positions in Butovka mine; to this end, Russian occupeirs used APCs fire near Zaytseve;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian forces armed provocation with grenade launchers and high caliber machine guns took place in Vodyane, Pavlopil and Shyrokino, while in Berezove the enemy used, besides mentioned above weaponry, APC’s fire against Ukrainian troops;
(5) No lethal casualties as well as no wounded in action reported among Ukrainian servicemen in the war zone in eastern Ukraine for the last 24 hours.
