Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of November 6, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  November 6, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) Russian hybrid forces intensified their armed activities in the war zone in eastern Ukraine  for the last 24 hours and actively used reactive barrel artillery, mortars of various types, anti-tank missile systems and armored vehicles against Ukrainian troops; several residential areas came under the enemy’s fire as well; Russian occupiers fired in total 23 times in the war zone, including 10 times on Luhansk direction and 13 times on Donetsk direction; Ukrainian troops were forces to returned fire in 14 cases;

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian occupiers fired in Novotoshkivske with forbidden 120-mm mortars and released 24 mines against Ukrainian troops positions; the enemy fulfilled 1-hour-long shelling of Ukrainian positions in Novooleksandrivka with the use of APCs, automatic grenade launchers, small arms and released 6 mines of forbidden 82-mm caliber; to this end, Russian forces fired with APCs near Popasna checkpoint; Nyzhnyoteple, Mayorske and Krymske settlements also came under Russian fire during the last day;

(3) Donetsk direction: Russian proxies waged 1,5-hours-long attack with APCs, grenade launchers and machine guns against Ukrainian troops near Vodyane and Talakivka and released in total 20 mines of forbidden 120-mm and 82-mm calibers; the enemy totally violated ceasefire and Minsk agreements by powerfull shelling of Avdiivka and Opytne with MLRS Grads, which surge damages to residential areas (!); the enemy launched 3 attacks against Ukrainian troops near Pisky with the use of mortar launchers of different calibers and 122-mm barrel artillery and released 90 mines upon Ukrainian defenders (!); the enemy also shelled with mortars near Avdiivka and released 23 mines of forbidden 82-mm caliber upon Ukrainian troops positions there; Russian occupiers fired with anti-tansk weaponry near Granitne; the enemy’s shellig with grenade launchers reported in Novotroytske and Bogdanivka;

(4) Mariupol direction: situation reported as stable on this direction during the last day;

(5) Russian hybrid forces losses for the last week are as follows: 10 killed in actions and 24 wounded in actions;

(6) No lethal casualties reported, but 2 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in action in the war zone in eastern Ukraine for the last 24 hours.
