Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of March 3, 2018

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  March 3, 2018 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.


(1) Russian hybrid forces launched 8 attacks and released 70 mines of 120-mm and 82-mm caliber upon Ukrainian troops positions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours. Ukrainian forces returned fire in 3 cases.
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian proxies violated ceasefire 3 times on this direction. The enemy’s shelling with 120-mm mortars upon Ukrainian troops positions reported in the area of Troytske, Svitlodarska line. Another Russian shelling with the use of small arms reported near Stanytsya Luhanska.
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers opened fire 5 times on this direction. The hottest spot reported in Avdiivka, where the enemy fulfilled 5 hours long shelling of Ukrainian positions with the use of 120-mm  and 82-mm mortars, easel grenade launchers and small arms. To this end, Russian proxies fired with 82-mm mortars and APCs upon Ukrainian troops in Bogdanivka.
(4) 1 Ukrainian serviceman was killed in action near Avdiivka and 2 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in action for the past day.
