Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of July 8, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of July 8, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.


(1) Russian hybrid forces ifired upon Ukrainian troops positions 22 times over the past 24 hours, including 5 times on Luhansk direction, 3 times on Donetsk direction and 14 times on Mariupol direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian occupiers fulfilled 3 attacks upon Ukrainian positions with the use of grenade launchers, high caliber machine guns, and small arms in the area of Donets; the enemy also fired with small arms upon Ukrainian troops in Stanytsya Luahanska and Krymske;
(3) Donetsk direction: the south surburb of Avdiivka came under forbidden 82-mm mortar fire, anti-aircraft grenade launchers and small arms attacks fulfilled by the Russian occupiers; the enemy shelled with forbidden 120-mm mortars the village of Pisky; high caliber machine guns and small arms have been used by the Russian forces during attack of the settlement of Avdiivka;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian warfare reported in Shyrokino, Vodyane and Novotroyitske, where the enemy shelled upon Ukrainian troops positions; Russian occupiers also violated ceasefire regime and fired with small arms, grenade launchers, APCs and anti-aircrafts in Lebedynske, Hnutove, Pavlopil and Krasnogorivka;
(5) No lethal casualties reported but 4 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours.
