Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of February 9, 2018

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  February 9, 2018 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.


(1) Russian hybrid forces launched 4 attacks against Ukrainian troops in the war zone in eastern Ukraine for the last 24 hours.
(2) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers fired with forbidden 120-mm mortar launchers and released 12 mines upon Ukrainian forces positions near Shyrokino. The enemy also launched attacks with the use of forbidden 82-mm mortars and grenade launchers and released 9 mines upon Ukrainian positions in Vodyane and Pisky.
(3) Ukrainian border guards came under fire from the territory of Russian Federation (from the settlement of Ushakova) at 12:30 pm (Kyiv time).
(4) No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen, but 1 serviceman was wounded in action over the last 24 hours.
