Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of February 5, 2018

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  February 5, 2018 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.


(1) Russian hybrid forces launched 5 attacks in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day. In particular, the enemy released 65 mortar mines of the forbidden 82-mm and 120-mm calibers upon Ukrainian troops positions.
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian occupiers fired with small arms in Zaytseve.
(3) Donetsk direction: Russian forces released 10 mortar mines of forbidden 120-mm caliber upon Ukrainian troops positions near Kamyanka. The enemy attack with 120-mm mortar launchers and released 9 mines upon Ukrainian positions in Novotroytske. Russian proxies fired with grenade launchers in Vodyane during 40 minutes long attack. Russian forces attack with 82-mm mortars and grenade launchers Butovka mine and released 46 mines upon Ukrainian defenders there.
(3) No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen, but 2 servicemen were wounded in action during the past 24 hours.
