Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of December 3, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  December 3, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.

(1) Russian hybrid forces escalate situation in the war zone in eastern Ukraine as launched 30 attacks with the use of heavy artillery against Ukrainian troops over the past 24 hours;

(2) Luhansk direction: Svitlodarsk bulge reported as the hottest spot on this direction as Russian occupiers released 20 shelles from forbidden 152-mm artillery upon Ukrainian troops positions near Novoluhansk; the enemy actively used mortar launchers, grenade launchers and small arms during firing upon Ukrainian positions in Luhansk, Novoluhansk, Zolote, Popasna, Novotoshkivske, Troytske and Novooleksandrivka;

(3) Donetsk and Mariupol direction: Russian proxies activities reported mainly on Mariupol direction, where they fired with 122-mm artillery and mortar near Vodyane and Shyrokino; the enemy’s shelling with 120-mm mortar launchers reported near Talakivka; Russian forces fired with infantry weapons upon Ukrainian positions in Pavlopil and Hnutove; the enemy also used antitank missile system during attack near Opytne; to this end, Russian forces released at least 200 mines and shells upon Ukrainian positions in total;

(4) The enemy fired with mortars, grenades and small armes at residential areas of Vodyane, Avdiivka and Verkhnyotoretsk;

(5) No lethal ceasulties reported among Ukrainian troops, but 3 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in actions as well as 1 civilian was injured in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day.
