Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of December 22, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  December 22, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.

(1) Russian hybrid forces violated ceasefire regime 16 times in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours, including 4 times on Luhansk direction and 12 times on Donetsk and Mariupol directions; Ukrainian Armed forces returned fire in 10 cases;

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian occupiers fired several times in the area of Svitlodarsk with grenade launchers and small arms; Russian proxies attacks with forbidden 120-mm and 82-mm mortars as well as sniper fire reported in Krymske and released in total 20 rounds of different caliber upon Ukrainian troops there;

(3) Donetsk and Mariupol directions: Russian Pisky, Vodyane and Novoselivka Druha reported as the hottest spots over the past day as the enemy used hard 120-mm mortar launchers and tanks there; Avdiivka, Hnutove and Verkhnyotoretske came under Russian proxies fire from 120-mm and 82-mm mortar launchers, APCs, all types infantry weaponry and anti-aircraft installations;

(4)  1 Ukrainian serviceman was killed in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours. We express our condolences to the relatives & warriors who gave their lives for Ukraine. 2 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in action;
