Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of August 25, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) The situation in the war zone in eastern Ukraine internsified. Russia’s hybrid forces dramatically increased number of attacks and opened fire 85 times upon Ukrainian troop positions over the last day, including: 25 times on Luhansk direction, 38 times on Donetsk direction and 22 times on Mariupol direction;

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces used mortar fire against Ukrainian troops in Stanytsya Luhanska; the enemy actively used mortars, 152-mm artillery and tanks all across the front line from Krymske to Novotoshkivske; Russian occupiers also used forbidden 152-mm artillery near Popasna, which resulted damages to a residential house; to this end, 11 times Russian forces fired with haevy weaponry on this direction;

(3) Donetsk direction: Russian occupiers fired fire mortars, tanks and cannons all across the frontline from Troytske to Krasnogorivka round the clock and released several hundreds of shells from howitzers and tansks upon Ukrainian troops positions; to this end, the enemy opened fire 29 times from forbidden heavy weapons on this direction;

(4) Mariupol direction: Russian forces launched massive artillery attack with self-propelled howitzer Gvozdika and released 120 shells over 1 hour upon Ukrainian troops positions; the enemy launched mortar attacks at Krasnogorivka, Novogrygorivka, Starognativka and Shyrokino; Russian forces also violated ceasefire regime in Maryinka and Pavlopil – Vodyane front direction; to this end, the enemy opened fire 5 times from havy weaponry;

(5) 3 Russian UAVs were spotted over the sky in the war zone (Luhansk and Donetsk directions) during the last day;

(6) Russian armed forces losses in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last day is 7 killed;

(7)  No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen, but 3 servicemen were wounded in action in the war zone in southeast Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
