Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of August 19, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  August 19, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.


(1) Russian hybrid forces launched 25 attacks against Ukrainian troops in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces violated ceasefire regime and used small arms and grenade launchers fire during shelling at Novozvanivka and Novooleksandrivka;
(3) Donetsk direction: Avdiivka remains the hottest spot on this direction as Russian occupiers launched 3 attacks with the use of mortars of different calibers, tanks and grenade launchers against Ukrainian troops there; the enemy fired with small arms in Zaytseve, resulting damages to the residential houses; Russian forces used grenade launchers and machine guns fire during 2-hours-long shelling at Novoselivka Druha;
(4) Mariupol direction: Russian occupiers used forbidden 82-mm mortar launchers and high caliber machine guns during 1-hour-long shelling upon Ukrainian troops positions near Chermalyk; in addition, Russian shelling reported in Pavlopol, Lebedyne Vodyane and Shyrokino;
(5) No lethal causalties reported among Ukrainian troops, but 3 servicemen were wounded in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
