Russia – Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of August 15, 2017

Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  August 15, 2017 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) Russian hybrid forces increased number of attacks and fired 32 times upon Ukrainian troops positions over the last 24 hours, including 2 times on Luhansk direction, 10 times on Donetsk direction and 10 times on Mariupol direction;

(2) Luhansk direction: Russian occupiers launched attacks in Krymske and Zolote;

(3) Donetsk direction: tense atmosphere remains in Avdiivka as Russian forces shelled 12 times and released 30 mines upon Ukrainian troops; the enemy also violated ceasefire in Kamyanka, Verkhnyotoretske and Luhanske with the use of mortars and armored vehicles;

(4) Mariupol direction: Russian troops actively fired with mortars and released 35 mines in Maryanka, Krasnogorivka and Vodyane; in addition, the enemy shelled at the residential areas of Maryinka again; Russian forces shelling also reported in Novotroytske, Talakivka, Hnutove, Shyrokino;

(5) No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian servicemen, but 8 servicemen were wounded in actions in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the last 24 hours.
