Russia – Ukraine war operational update of the General Staff of Ukraine for the last 24 hours of Russia – Ukraine war as of 6:00 a.m., October 26, 2023. 

610 day of the russian large-scale invasion and 3,537 day of the russia’s war against Ukraine begins.

The adversary continues to ignore the laws and customs of warfare, uses terror tactics, launches missile and airstrikes, and fires multiple rocket launchers not only at the military, but also at civilian objects of Ukraine.

During the past day, 78 combat clashes took place. In total, the russian forces carried out 50 airstrikes and 49 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Also, yesterday, the russian occupiers carried out another air strike with Iranian shahed drones. The forces and means of anti-aircraft defense of Ukraine destroyed all air targets. As a result of the fall of the drones wreckage, unfortunately, there are at least 17 wounded among the civilian population. In the cities of Slavuta and Netishyn of the Khmelnytskyi region, 11 apartment buildings and 9 private buildings, 2 educational institutions, 2 fire and rescue units, and the building of the police department were damaged. Also, as a result of an airstrike by guided aerial bombs on the residential quarter of the city of Berislav and the villages in the Berislav district of the Kherson region, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The following settlements were hit by the russian airstrikes: Novoselyvske, Serebryansk Forestry, Belogorivka of the Luhansk Region ; Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Khromov, Klishchiivka, New York, Avdiyivka, Novobakhmutivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Staromayorske, Volodyne of the Donetsk region; Novodarivka, Novodanilivka, Zaporizhzhia region; Zmiivka, Berislav, Novoberislav, Odradokamyanka, Mykolaivka, Olhivka of the Kherson region.

More than 130 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of the “Pivnich” OSUV in the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the russian enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active diversionary activities in order to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the “Khortytsia” anti-aircraft defense unit in the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 13 enemy attacks in the area of Sinkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka settlements of the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, our soldiers are firmly holding the defense, successfully repulsed all enemy attacks near Nadia and Makiivka, Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 10 enemy attacks in the Bohdanivka, Ivanovsky, Klishchiivka, Andriivka districts of the Donetsk region. In turn, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue their assault operations south of Bakhmut, in the Donetsk region, inflict losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, and secure themselves at the achieved boundaries.

In the area of responsibility of the “Tavria” anti-aircraft missile defense system in the Avdiivka direction, the russian occupiers do not stop trying to surround Avdiivka, actively uses aviation, but our soldiers firmly hold the defense and inflict significant losses on the enemy. The offensive actions of the enemy were unsuccessful in the areas of Stepovoy, Avdiyivka, Tonenkoy, Severnyy of the Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repelled 15 enemy attacks.

In the Mariinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Here Ukrainian soldiers repelled 20 enemy attacks.

On the Shakhtarsky and Zaporizhzhia directions, Ukraine’s defenders repelled all enemy attacks in Vodyanyi, Novoukrayinka, Staromayorsky districts of the Donetsk region, and Vervovy region of Zaporizhzhia region.

At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, and exhaust the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of the “Odesa” anti-aircraft fire brigade in the Kherson direction, our soldiers are conducting a counter-battery fight, inflicting fire damage on the enemy’s rear.

During the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces made 7 strikes on areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.

Units of the missile forces hit 3 ammunition warehouses, 6 artillery pieces and the enemy’s air defense radar station.
