Russia – Ukraine war operational update of the General Staff of Ukraine for the last 24 hours of Russia – Ukraine war as of 6:00 a.m., July 28, 2023.

During the past day, the enemy launched 3 rocket and 29 air strikes, launched more than 70 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of the Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population, destruction and damage to the port infrastructure in the south of Ukraine and residential buildings.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains very high.

During the past 24 hours, more than 30 combat clashes took place.

In the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

In the Siversky and Slobozhansk directions, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery attacks on more than 35 settlements, in particular, Novovasylivka, Stara Huta, Iskryskivshchyna, Volfine, Bilovody, Pokrovka of the Sumy region and Guryiv Kozachok, Udy, Bochkove, Mala Vovcha, Budarky of the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy launched an air strike in the Izyum district of the Kharkiv region. Figolivka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kislivka and Novoosynov in the Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted an unsuccessful offensive in the Nadia region and carried out an airstrike near Bilogorivka, Luhansk region. The settlements of Nevske, Bilogorivka of the Luhansk region and Spirne, Berestov, Torske, and Verkhnokamianske of the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, our defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks in the areas west and south of Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the districts of Kurdyumivka, Bila Hora and New York of the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements were affected by enemy artillery shelling, among them Rozdolivka, Minskivka, Predtechyne, Toretsk, New York of Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, under heavy fire from the enemy’s aircraft and artillery, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops in the Avdiivka area. More than 15 settlements, including Avdiivka, Lastochkine, Vodyane, Pervomaiske and Karlivka of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery fire.

In the Mariinka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the area of the city of Marinka. The enemy shelled more than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, Maryinka, Kurakhivka, Pobyeda, and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, under heavy fire from aviation and artillery, the defense forces liberated the village of Staromayorske, Donetsk region. In the districts of Rivnopol and Makarivka of the Donetsk region, the enemy made an unsuccessful attempt to restore the lost position. Shelled the settlements of Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vugledar and Blagodatne of the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the further advance of our troops. He carried out an airstrike in the Novoberyslav district of the Kherson region. More than 15 settlements, including Novodarivka, Gulyaipole, Charivne, Biloghirya and Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery fire; Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region; Mykhailivka, Zmiivka, Odradokamyanka, Lviv, Tokarivka, Antonivka and Rozlyv of the Kherson region. At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, and are entrenched at the achieved boundaries.

The Russian occupying forces continue to throw newly mobilized servicemen into battle without prior combat training. Thus, about 110 mobilized servicemen from the territory of the Russian Federation arrived in the settlement of Rogove, Luhansk region, to the training camp of one of the divisions of the Russian occupation forces. When they were issued with equipment and weapons, the Russian command informed the newly arrived personnel that they would be included in the assault units and in the near future would be sent to the area to perform combat missions on the contact line.

During the day, the aviation of the defense forces made 7 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the enemy, 1 – on anti-aircraft missile complexes and 1 – on the enemy’s control point. During the past day, our defenders destroyed 8 enemy attack UAVs of the Shahed-136 type and 5 operational-tactical reconnaissance UAVs.

During the day, units of missile forces and artillery hit 1 control post, 1 personnel concentration area, 5 artillery pieces in firing positions, 1 warehouse of fuel and lubricants, and 1 radio-electronic warfare station of the enemy.
