Russia – Ukraine war operational update of the General Staff of Ukraine for the last 24 hours of Russia – Ukraine war as of 6:00 a.m., August 4, 2023.

During the past day, the Russian Federation struck Ukraine with Iranian attack UAVs of the “Shahed” type. All 15 enemy drones were destroyed by our anti-aircraft defense. Also, the enemy launched 1 rocket, 57 air strikes and fired 29 rocket salvo fire strikes at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are victims among the civilian population.

The probability of further missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains very high.
During the past day, about 40 combat clashes took place.

In the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy carried out airstrikes in Veterinarny, Kharkiv and Vesely districts of Kharkiv region. He carried out mortar and artillery shelling of more than 40 settlements, in particular Karpovychi, Tymonovichi and Leonivka of the Chernihiv region; Sopych, Kucherivka, Pavlivka, Myropyllya, Krasnopillya of the Sumy region and Guryiv Kozachok, Visoka Yaruga, Vovchansk, Varvarivka and Bologivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the area of Petropavlivka and Kislivka. Figolivka, Dvorichna, Kupyansk and Kucherivka of the Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the settlements of Nevske, Belogorivka of the Luhansk region and Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Torske of the Donetsk region were hit by enemy artillery fire.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the defense forces are restraining the enemy in the direction south and south-east of Ivanovsky. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the area of Chasovoy Yar, Ivanovsky and Druzhba. More than 15 settlements, including Vasyukivka, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Predtechine, and Severnye of the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy launched an air strike in the Avdiivka area. He carried out unsuccessful offensive actions north and south-east of Avdiyivka and south-east of Pervomaiskyi. Stepove, Lastochkina, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske of the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

In the Mariinka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the area of the city of Marinka. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the area of Krasnohorivka and Maryinka. He shelled the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Gostre, Maksimilianivka, Georgiivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the area of Makarivka and the village of Rivnopil. The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position west of Staromayorsky and east of Urozhany. Vremivka, Rivnopil, and Novosilky of the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

In the direction of Zaporizhzhia, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the area of Uspenivka and Malaya Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the further advance of our troops. More than 20 settlements, including Levadne, Gulyaipole, Novoandriyivka, Mali Shcherbaki, Stepove, Stepnohirsk of the Zaporizhia region and Nikopol of the Dnipropetrovsk region, were hit by artillery fire.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy launched an air strike in the Odradokamyanka area. More than 20 settlements, including Shevchenkivka, Respublikanets, Beryslav, Sadov, Kherson, and Dniprovske in the Kherson region, and Dmytrivka and Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region, were hit by enemy artillery fire.
At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, are entrenched at the reached boundaries, and carry out counter-battery countermeasures.

In Energodar, temporarily occupied by Russian troops, in order to continue work at the Zaporizhia NPP, the occupiers are forcing the station’s staff to issue Russian passports, threatening reprisals. Thus, in the city, the occupying forces of the Russian Federation conduct regular searches of local residents both on the streets and in homes. Passports and phones are checked. If a citizen’s passport turns out to be Ukrainian, the document is destroyed and forced to issue a Russian passport. The occupiers force other documents to be changed as well: driver’s license, documents for movable and immovable property.

Over the past day, the aviation of the defense forces has struck 9 strikes on areas where the enemy’s personnel, weapons and military equipment are concentrated, and 2 – on the occupiers’ anti-aircraft missile complexes.

Over the past 24 hours, units of missile forces and artillery have hit 12 artillery pieces in firing positions, 1 radar station, 1 control post, 3 personnel concentration areas, 2 anti-aircraft defenses, and 3 enemy ammunition depots.

In general, last day, our soldiers eliminated 640 Russian invaders. The enemy lost 4 tanks, 15 armored combat vehicles, 19 artillery systems, 1 anti-aircraft vehicle, 27 operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, 20 vehicles and 3 units of special equipment.
