News & Analysis Center of the National Security Council of Ukraine presents the latest updates from the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine on February 4, 2016 at its daily briefing.

(1) Luhansk direction: the enemy activated actions all over the sector; 120-mm mortars were used to shell on Stanytsya-Luganska; Tense atmosphear reported near the settlement of Tryokhizbenka, where Russian armed forces fulfilled series of attacks on Ukrainian armed positions, including once 82-mm mortars;

(2) Donetsk direction: tense situation remains all across the frontline. The enemy used mortars two times in Kirove and Pervomaysk; Ukrainian servicemen got under the enemy’s fire in Mayorsk; series of Russian provocations reportedly took place on the whole frontline from Svitlodarsk to Pisky;

(3) Mariupol direction: situation became tense over the last 24 hours; 17 times Russian armed forces violated ceasefire regime with endless shelling of the village of Mariinka during several hours; Mortar shelling rook place in Krasnogorivka as well; Besides that, the enemy fired at the Ukrainian blockpost on the route Mariupol – Donetsk; the situation became worse in south Mariupol direction, where Ukrainian polision on the Gnutove-Lomakine line were continuosly fired by the enemy with the use of 120-mm mortars; Russian-backed militants who controll Kominterne continue their provocations, firing the village of Sakhanka with MLSR BM-21 Grad;

(4) No casualties reported among Ukrainian armed forces for the last 24 hours; 1Ukrainian soldier was wounded in actions near Horlivka.
