In the Moscow region, a Russian air defense missile got stuck in a residential building

On the night of May 6, during the repulsion of a UAV attack, Russian forces hit a high-rise residential building in the Moscow region with a missile. A fragment of the “Pantsir-S” anti-aircraft missile and gun system missile got stuck in a balcony.

After hitting the balcony’s cladding, the missile did not detonate. This information is reported by Russian Telegram channels.

Eyewitnesses stated that the Russian missile got stuck in one of the high-rise buildings in the city of Podolsk. According to preliminary data, it is a booster block from the “Pantsir-S” air defense system.

Notably, there have been no official statements regarding the incident from local officials or the Russian Ministry of Defense. Meanwhile, in the morning, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Moscow region reported that “no rescue units are being involved” in Podolsk. The department declined to provide detailed information to Russian journalists and suggested directing all questions to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Local residents saw the missile in the building by morning. However, a pharmacy located in the damaged building stated that they had evacuated the night before. It was also reported that two powerful explosions were heard in Podolsk during the UAV attack. However, the fragment of the anti-aircraft missile on the balcony was noticed by locals around 10:00 AM. The booster block from the air defense system got stuck in the balcony of a building on Leningradskaya Street, 13/20.

More than three hours after the missile was discovered in the building, the Podolsk City Hall stated that the shell in the wall of one of the residential buildings on Leningradskaya Street posed no danger. Officials also promised that the missile would be “extracted by specialists in the near future.”

As a reminder, on the night of May 6, several regions of Russia were attacked by UAVs. Some of them were headed toward Moscow, whose authorities reported that up to 20 drones had allegedly been shot down. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that “fragments fell in several places.”

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on the night of May 5, Russia complained about a drone attack in the Moscow region and several other areas. Moscow authorities boasted that drones and debris did not reach Moscow, while the Kaluga region claimed there were casualties.
