“Violent fighting continues in the Bakhmut sector. In recent weeks, we have managed to oust the enemy on the flanks, occupy the commanding heights and advance towards the village of Klishchiivka. We have also strengthened our positions on the southwestern outskirts of Bakhmut – in the so-called Sady, as well as in the Litak area. The enemy has pulled up reserves and is trying to recapture these positions. The Russians have received new reinforcements, and are actively throwing them into battle. That is, we are attacking the enemy and advancing, while they are trying to counterattack and recapture the positions, but fail. It is a bit difficult now. Apparently, the enemy has an order to hold these positions at any cost, so the fighting has intensified again,” said the serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yuriy Syrotyuk added that the russian occupiers are suffering huge losses; all forest belts are covered with corpses of Russian soldiers who nobody troubles to remove.

  • On June 5, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar informed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had switched to counter-offensive actions in some front sections, and were advancing on a broad front in the Bakhmut sector, occupying the commanding positions.
  • On June 7, the air defense unit of the 80th separate amphibious assault brigade shot down yet another enemy Orlan-type unmanned aerial vehicle near Bakhmut (the Donetsk region).
  • On June 8, it was reported that during the day the 3rd assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine pushed back  the Russian army 1.8 km along the front line and 1.2 km deep near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
