For those who are not from Ukraine, but have begun to understand where this great country is located.

Ukraine is the largest country that is entirely in Europe.

The international Ukrainian anthem consists of only six lines (four in the verses and two in the chorus). The remaining lines of the anthem are considered politically incorrect (e.g., “Let us, brothers, fight a bloody battle from the Syan to the Don” refers to Ukraine’s claims to the territory of Russia and other “neighbors”).

The Ukrainian language is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world (experts distinguish between about 7,000 languages) and ranks 26th in terms of the number of speakers. It is also the second most widely spoken language among the languages of Slavic origin.

Ukrainian is the second most melodic language in the world after Italian. It was recognized as the third most beautiful language in the world based on such criteria as phonetics, vocabulary, phraseology, and sentence construction after French and Persian at a language competition in Paris.

 Ukraine ranks fourth in the world in terms of the number of citizens with higher education. The population of Ukraine is among the most educated, and the number of people with higher education per capita is higher than the European average.

 The Kyiv-Mohyla Academy is considered the oldest educational institution in Eastern Europe.

 The first printed primer published by a Ukrainian author was titled “Science to Reading and Understanding Slavic Writing.” It was published in Vilnius.

 The Zaporizhzhian Sich, a socio-political and military-administrative organization of the Ukrainian Cossacks, is rightfully considered one of the first democratic entities in the world.

 The very first Constitution in the world was created by Pylyp Orlyk. On April 5, 1710, it was called ” The Treaties and Resolutions of the Rights and Freedoms of the Zaporozhian Army

“. In the United States, the Constitution was adopted in 1787, in France and Poland only in 1791.

The UPA armies set an absolute record by holding on to the de facto occupied territory for almost twenty years. Even Fidel Castro’s Cuban rebels studied the technologies and methods of Ukrainian soldiers.

 The longest musical instrument in the world is the Ukrainian trembita. It can be up to four meters long and its sounds can be heard more than ten kilometers away.

 The longest gypsum cave in the world and the second longest (second only to Mammoth Cave in the United States) is called Optimistic Cave and is located in Podillia.

 Ukraine has 1/4 of the world’s black soil reserves.

 The oldest map known to scientists, as well as the oldest settlement of Homo sapiens, were found in Ukraine: in the village of Mezhyrichchia, Rivne region. They are about 14.5-15 thousand years old. The map is carved on a mammoth bone.

 One of the largest historical transportation routes, the “Way from the Varangians to the Greeks,” a 3,000-kilometer-long system of river routes and dragways between them that connected the northern lands of ancient Rus with the southern Rus lands and the Baltic Sea with the Black Sea, ran through Ukraine. Throughout its ancient history, Ukraine-Rus’ served as a bridge between the worlds of Eastern Europe and the Ancient East, ancient, Byzantine, and Latin Europe.

 Of the 12 Lavras in the world, 4 are located in Ukraine. Three are Orthodox and one is Greek Catholic.

 Ukraine is one of the three world leaders in honey production. It is also the first in the world to produce honey per capita.

 The world’s deepest subway station is located in Kyiv.

 The shortest main street, but at the same time one of the widest and most picturesque, is Khreshchatyk Street in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.

 One of the world’s most famous Christmas songs is “Shchedryk,” a folk song recorded by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych. The world knows it as Carol of the Bells or Ring Christmas Bells. Usually on Youtube, various performances of “Shchedryk” get millions of views.

 One of the largest deserts in Europe is located in Ukraine.

 The Ukrainian Pivdenmash (Dnipro) produces the most environmentally friendly launch vehicles in the world.

 The third most visited McDonald’s in the world is located in Kyiv, near the railway station. This restaurant is consistently ranked among the five busiest McDonald’s in the world.
