Bakhmut: the russians has failed to capture the city so far

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated that the russian forces had failed to capture the city so far.

“The most difficult thing would be if there was a military tactical error in Bakhmut and people would find themselves surrounded. Ukrainian servicemen are currently performing a very important task in Bakhmut. I will not specify where exactly they are. But this indicates that Bakhmut has not been captured by the Russian Federation. There cannot be two or three interpretations of this fact,” Volodymyr Zelenskyi noted during the G7 sunmmit in Hyrosima, Japan.

Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:

Despite the fact that we now control a small part of Bakhmut, the importance of its defense does not lose its relevance. This gives us the opportunity to enter the city if the situation changes. And it will definitely happen.

We continue to advance on the flanks in the suburbs of Bakhmut and are close to tactically encircling the city. Thanks to this, we will be able to control all high-rise buildings occupied by the enemy and gradually destroy them. This deprives the enemy of control over the approaches to the city and gives us certain tactical advantages.

In the course of working with the commanders, we discussed in detail our actions and the procedure for destroying the enemy. Therefore, we continue the defense. The situation is difficult, but under control.

It worth to mention, that during the recent day many reported stated that Bakhmut fall and russian forces took it all. Such reportes shared as from the russian side as well as by internal Ukrainian media and bloggers area and west institutions which [as they stated] mapping situation along the front lines of Ukraine. Another big disinformation campaign. More to come.

To this end, as is known from the official statements, russia’s losses near Bakhmut exceed 100,000 persons. This was stated by US President Joe Biden at the G7 Summit press conference in Japan.
