Russia holds over 60 political prisoners in the occupied Crimea

There are already more than 60 political prisoners in the occupied Crimea, Refat Chubarov says.

More than 60 people detained for political reasons are already in prison in the occupied Crimea, said the chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, a member of the “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” fraction, Refat Chubarov.
“The number of those we refer to political prisoners, that is, people who are deprived of liberty, and they are behind bars or in detention facility, or have already received so-called judicial sentences, or by court sentences they are limited in movement around the Crimea, is more than 60 in the Crimea”, – R.Chubarov said.
According to him, about 10 people have already received terms of imprisonment. “They are forwarded to mainland Russia.”
“And I’m not talking about those who received a huge fine, starting from participation in the events on February 26, 2014, then there are already several hundred of such people,” the chairman of the Mejlis highlighted.
