Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of  January 12, 2018 by ATO HQ operational data and Ministry of Defence spokesman on ATO issues: EMPR highlights.



(1) Russian hybrid forces violated ceasefire regime 9 times in the war zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day, including 4 times on Luhansk direction and 5 times on Donetsk and Mariupol direction;
(3) Luhansk direction: Russian occupiers launched attacks and released about 10 mines of forbidden 82-mm and 120-mm caliber upon Ukrainian troops positions in the area of Luhanske; Russian proxies continue shelling with grenade launchers, machine guns and other infantry weaponry Ukrainian troops positions near Novoluhanske and Novozvanivka;
(4) Donetsk and Mariupol directions: Russian proxies actively used mortars of different calibers on this direction; the enemy shelled with forbidden 120-mm and 82-mm mortar launchers and released 11 mines upon Ukrainian troops positions near Shyrokino; Russian occupiers also fired with mortars and small arms at Ukrainian defenders positions and released 12 mines near Lebedynske; the enemy fired with forbiden weaponry and released 9 mortar mines of 82-mm caliber near Hnutove; Russian forces attack with grenade launchers fire Ukrainian positions near Pisky;
(5) 1 Ukrainian serviceman deadly hit a mine on Donetsk direction and 4 servicemen were wounded in actions (near Novozvanivka and Pisky) for the past 24 hours in the war zone in eastern Ukraine.
