Eleven French parliamentarians headed by the National Assembly deputy and former Minister of Transport of France Thierry Mariani will visit occupied Crimea from July 29 – 31.
Sergey Aksyonov, Prime Minister of so-called ”the republic” informed about this upcoming event to the Russian press. He admits, that all previous visits of the International delegation to the occupied peninsula gave positive impack on easing sanctions against the Russian Federation. he also thinks, that occupied Crimea has a lot of friendly oriented western politicians.
The day earlier, the Chairman of the Russian Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and links with compatriots Leonid Slutsky stated that French Parliamentary delegation programme in occupied Crimea includes, besides the official meeting with Sergey Aksyonov, several meetings with Chairman of the State Council, Vladimir Konstantinov, the governor of Sevastopol Sergey Menyailo, and possibly with famous prosecutor Natalia Poklonska.
Last year, French delegation have already come to occupied territory with the official visit, which raise a lot of mass media and political attentions to this action. To remind, European Union extended Russian sanctions over Crimea annexation for a year againg on June 19, 2016.
Meantime, the French Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Romain Nadal has confirmed that Paris does not recognize annexation of Ukrainian Crimea by Russia and it is underlined that any initiatives that will aim to divert from this position must be avoided.
Newetherless, lets wait a few days and see, whether French diplomats will come againg to Ukrainian territory occupied by Russian regular armed forces during the Sping 2014 or not.
