Kyiv city food fest 3.0: A gastro-tour through Italy and Spain

The Platforma Art Factory keeps surprising us with unique events. The group ULICHNAYA EDA (Street Food) is inviting everyone to the most grandiose gastro event in the country: the City Food Fest 3.0 which will take place on October 2-4 in Kyiv.

“Street food has become more than a trend or a fad, it has become a part of culture. Just tasting a dish no longer satisfies people, they want to know the story behind its preparation. All the secrets will be revealed at the CITY FOOD FEST 3.0 where guests will be able to enjoy traditional street food as well as innovative restaurant fare. The theme of the event will be Italian and Spanish cuisine both of which boast outstanding flavor and are easy to prepare,” notes Roman Tuhashev, the designer of the event.

Lovers of Mediterranean fare will be astonished with the wide variety of dishes, and connoisseurs will be surprised with the array and diversity of the Mediterranean culinary traditions. All kinds of Spanish tapas with olives, seafood, and cheese will be available as representative of Spanish cuisine. Ham.Lo, the favorite tapas bar at all the street food festivals will be there with the most delicious sandwiches featuring Spanish ham. Lovers of pure ham will be able to enjoy Spanish jamón at the permanent location of Hamon Baby from their selection of ham, cheese, and fruits and vegetables. The distinctive Spanish flavors in all the possible combinations and variations of paella, zarzuela, gazpacho, and gespetto will delight you.

Italy will welcome the visitor with pasta dishes. The City Food Fest 3.0 will offer spaghetti, fettuccini, tagliatelle, spaghettinni, and other kinds of pasta. The standard lasagna, pizza, risotto, ravioli, as well as various types of bruschetta and cheese will not leave guests indifferent – even the most sophisticated gourmands. And what kind of Mediterranean cuisine can there be without oysters, shrimp, squid and other gifts of the sea? All of it accompanied with good wine and aromatic coffee!

Wine, for example, is a very fitting part of festivals. Partnering for the event with “WineTime” “Street Food” will try to set a world record for the simultaneous opening of 1300 bottles of sparkling wine. The organizers are calling on all guests to come and join this historic event: to participate in setting a world record while at the same time enjoying the delicious wines.

An outstanding feature of the City Food Fest is its educational component. Guests will be able to attend lectures delivered by representatives of the restaurant business: food bloggers, gastronomy experts, chefs, barmen and mixologists, sommeliers and baristas. And of course there will be wine and cheese tasting as well as master classes in cooking for young people.

All this is just an introduction to the entertaining festival. On Friday the Green Stage at the Platforma Art Factory will serve as a stage for dancing. The “White Nights” will be the opening number at the dance party and Dee jays NoisyBoys from Dnipropetrovsk, who became popular with the public in Kyiv at the best parties that were held in September promise that not only will they repeat “White Nights” but that they will surpass their September performance. Saturday and Sunday will feature jazz and blues by the finer Ukrainian bands – an excellent option for those who want to relax after a raucous Friday.

Two additional events will be taking place at the City Food Fest. Along with other Platforma Art Factory exhibitions that have taken place and proved to be popular, a photo exhibition “Nudes in the City,” a new series by the legendary Ukrainian photographer, Ruslan Lobanov, is being offered. Not only was Platforma Art Factory fortunate to be able to provide a venue for the photographer, but to be the site for one of his exhibitions, as well.

A boxing match will take place in addition. A boxing ring will be set up at 2 Piazza, the new square, where 6 matches, sponsored by the Ukrainian National Boxing League will be on view Saturday. New titles will be conferred on the boxers and the spectators will have a chance to sign up to be a member of the world Professional Boxers club.

According to the organizers of the event, these are not all the surprises. They are promising to reveal more secrets at the fest. Don’t miss it!

Admission price for one ticket is 70 UAH.

The festival takes place October 2-4 from 11:00AM to 11:00PM.
