Justice denied: the case of Lviv Berkut commander Rostyslav Patseliak
The commander of the Lviv Berkut, Rostyslav Patseliak, under whose command Ukrainians were killed on the Maidan on February 18, is free once again. Bail of one million was posted by someone notable individual from occupied Donetsk.
I’m left wondering, what could connect a Galician like Patseliak with this Donetsk notable individual? And isn’t it time for the SBU to investigate these notable individuals and their shady millions? Could they be conducting subversive activities in favor of our enemies?
Now, let’s go through how we ended up in this situation.
On August 16, the Pechersk Court, once again, made headlines. The notorious judge Konstantinova, who is also known for her separatist daughter, decided to release a potential criminal, the commander of the Lviv Berkut who was active on the Maidan on February 18, Rostyslav Patseliak, on bail of one million.
She made a very crafty decision: to take him into custody but set an alternative bail. She couldn’t avoid taking him into custody because the State Bureau of Investigation recently brought fresh charges against him, involving 12 murders and 8 gunshot wounds.
Prosecutors Suprun and Ivanov (the best of the best, who received a handshake from my husband Stepan Khmara) proved that the commander of the Lviv Berkut, Patseliak, was directly involved in these murders.
Moreover, the commander of the Lviv Berkut has an active Russian passport, which led to him being stripped of Ukrainian citizenship.
Since 2014, this Patseliak, who wasn’t even restricted in his movements despite ongoing trials, has traveled to Russia dozens of times and even maintains friendly relations with officers from Ulan-Ude. (Let’s remember Irpin and Bucha, as it was the Buryats who were the most brutal there). He cannot adequately explain the reasons for his trips to the enemy state. It was also recently discovered that he receives a pension in Russia.
Why? And for what merits? These questions are probably rhetorical.
So, it’s clear that he is a Russian agent, as Stepan Khmara suspected and repeatedly stated in court.
Unfortunately, our country lacks a just court system and law enforcement. Here, the law of the jungle prevails. But there is the organization “Unbroken Maidan,” whose members have been attending these trials for 10 long years, and we have our incredible, unyielding activists dedicated to Ukraine. They will not give up.
And even, to our joy and surprise, there are honest prosecutors who will help us.
So, the main thing is to believe and not give up!
