'Kinzhal destroys Patriot in Ukraine' is just another russian fake

After the hardest night attack in Kyiv, Russians are sharing a video from a fixed surveillance camera in Kyiv, which was made public at night, with a comment that it shows the operation of the MIM-104 Patriot surface-to-air missile system.

The Russian Defense Ministry and Russian bloggers are spreading information that the video also shows a Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missile hitting the Patriot.

In my opinion, such statements once again show the incompetence and mendacity of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the bloggers it hires, based on open information about the characteristics of the Patriot PAC-2 surface-to-air missile system.

The video shows the launch trajectory of the surface-to-air missile system, but not the battery itself, or what exactly and where exactly exploded on the ground.

Judging by the video, over 20 anti-aircraft missiles were launched from the same point almost one after the other.

But it definitely couldn’t be the Patriot.

First, the Patriot battery consists of four launchers, with four missile containers on each launcher. That is, the battery can quickly carry out only 16 launches and then must be recharged.

Secondly, the launchers are large and stationed over a large area so as not to limit the maneuver. It is impossible to launch from one point, one launcher will make only four launches from one point, and then it will change position.

These statements about the Patriot are just another Russian fake.

And now about the alleged destruction of a surface-to-air missile system, which certainly does not look like a Patriot.

We can see an explosion up close already after the completion of the launches.

First, we can see that the explosion is far from the launch point to the east of the observation axis. The camera has no zoom, but it recorded the launches at close range, they were somewhere behind the house to which the camera is directed. The explosion is at distance from the launch point.

Secondly, it is impossible to hit a place in Kyiv with a population of 3 million people with a Kinzhal invisibly – its warhead is 480 kg. I have repeatedly posted on my channel a video of explosion of a similar Tochka –U warhead. If a strike had been somewhere in Kyiv near a house, there would have been thousands of witnesses due to hitting a large number of houses and large-scale destruction. You can’t hide that.

My conclusion:

1. The video looks like an explosion of debris from a downed missile that fell somewhere outside the city.

2. The Russian Defense Ministry is trying to cover up its defeats after 5 Russian planes and helicopters were destroyed in the last week and after the failed air strike on Kyiv. Russian pilots have suffered heavy losses and are afraid to operate effectively in the air, hiding from possible launches of our latest surface-to-air missile systems Patriot, IRIS, NASAMS, and SAMP-T.

3. A fierce battle is going on in the Russian Defense Ministry between Gerasimov’s group and the group of the commander of the Air and Space Forces Surovikin. Therefore, many of Surovikin’s supporters are trying to hide his unsuccessful actions, and are ready to invent anything to save the reputation of this famous “fighter with transformers”.
