Iryna Farion: During this terrible and wild war cynical beings in Ukrainian parliament are looting the last budget funds

Each of you who donates, from the smallest contribution to the largest, is also contributing to the heroism of our soldiers. And against the backdrop of this fundraising from all over the world, we hear today the fantastic news that our Verkhovna Rada, or rather a group undermining Ukrainian statehood—I’d now call them that—at least the absolute majority of them, are voting for a very interesting bill that increases the salaries of parliamentary assistants by one and a half times. This salary is now 132,600 UAH per month.

People, did you hear that? The salary of a parliamentary assistant is 132,600 UAH. My salary as a professor from November to May was 123,923 UAH, and I have donated it to drones along with the donation from my lawyer, who refused to be paid for his services while fighting for justice in court.

And today, the Verkhovna Rada, a gang of anti-state criminals, votes to reach into our budget, into our taxes that we pay, and pocket 123,000 UAH a month for this so-called legislative nonsense that they produce every month, to the point where our legal experts are not just unable to master the quantity of laws and study them; they can’t even read them. So, to defend someone in court, you first need to really familiarize yourself with some new amendments added by these idiots—there’s no other way to describe them.

I remind you, esteemed folks, that in 2014, when the Maidan happened, we Svoboda deputies initiated a cut in our own salaries by half, as well as the salaries of our assistants. It seems that such a miracle will not happen again in the history of our parliament, where deputies would vote to reduce their own salaries and those of their assistants. I recall that at that time, the salary of assistants was over 4,000 UAH, and we continued working. But here we see such a situation.

So, I conclude my unexpected speech to you and to myself by stating that recently Zelensky congratulated us on Statehood Day, a very appropriate holiday, when there are indeed statesmen in parliament. But in our parliament, there are cynical beings who, during this terrible and wild war, when our army clearly lacks everything, are digging into the budget, looting the last funds.

I have a question for you: in your comments, write who among you voted for this gang of creatures currently sitting in parliament? It wasn’t just 226 votes—the minimum number needed to pass a decision—but a significant number of deputies, forgive me, I don’t recall exactly, but it seems 230, over 260 deputies, if I’m not mistaken. Of course, you can check the Verkhovna Rada website to see how each faction voted. I just didn’t have time to do that for you, but it’s easy to find out. If you do, share this information. It will be your contribution to enlightening our dark society, which continually saws off the branch it’s sitting on. Because these people in parliament are undermining our statehood, which the president recently spoke so well about. And he brought this scum into parliament, which has raised its salary to 132,000 UAH a month.

And how much does a soldier earn at the frontline? 100,000 UAH? And this worthless assistant earns 136,000 UAH a month? Will you continue to vote for them?

Recall that Iryna Farion was killed in the courtyard of her home in Lviv less than a day after this interview was released.
